We know that being able to get good reception wherever you go is important to you. (As are great service and fantastic value, of course.)

So you'll be happy to hear that we use the Optus network, which reaches 98.5% of the population in Australia.

If your phone or tablet is ready for 4G, then so are we.

4G coverage is already available in parts of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, Toowoomba, Perth, Adelaide, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong, Central Coast and Newcastle/Hunter regions. And you can get 4G Plus in selected areas in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

For the technically minded, 4G coverage uses 1800 MHz spectrum while 4G Plus coverage uses the 2300 MHz band.

The Fine Print:

1. Coverage within the Optus Network is device dependant.

2. With 3G devices and a compatible plan, you are able to access our 3G (2100Mhz/900Mhz) Network. With 4G devices and a compatible plan, you are able to access our entire 3G Network and 4G 1800Mhz Network. With 4G Plus devices and a compatible plan, you can access all areas of the Optus Network, including our 3G, 4G & 4G Plus (2300Mhz) Networks. Virgin Mobile prepares coverage maps using the latest available data, tools and techniques to map predicted Optus mobile outdoor coverage as accurately as possible. However as with any network based on radio technology coverage will vary in quality and availability due to your device, demand on the Network and local conditions, geographic and structural. For example hills, concrete structures, high-rise buildings, lifts, basements and tunnels may prevent or interfere with reception.

3. Virgin Mobile’s coverage maps may show planned rollout. These predictions are based on rollout schedules available at the time of publication and may change without notice.
