  • Make sure your phone is set up for Mobile Internet Data - it's quick, easy and free

*If you move to a lower Data Value-Add, the change will only take place at the start of your next billing cycle. However if you move to a higher Value Add, the change will happen immediately. When you make changes in My Account you'll see a pop-up telling you exactly when they'll take place. DVAs include uploads & downloads.

Data Value Adds (DVAs): are charged monthly and continue until you cancel with 30 days’ notice. Included data from your plan will be used before DVA data is used. Changing to a lower value DVA will take effect from the start of your next billing cycle.

The connection setting that allows you to use Mobile Internet on your mobile phone is called an "Access Point Name" (APN). Most Virgin Mobile Prepaid Members connect using the VirginInternet APN but there are a few exceptions:

  • If you BYO iPhone™ to Virgin Mobile and use it with a Prepaid mobile service, then it will connect to the Mobile Internet using the YesInternet APN. This is pre-configured and can't be changed.
  • If you BYO a mobile phone to Virgin Mobile that was purchased from Optus then this may connect to the Mobile Internet using the YesInternet APN. Follow this guide to update your connection setting to the VirginInternet APN.
  • If you have a 4G compatible handset you can now enjoy the benefits if you are in a 4G coverage area. Follow this guide to update your connection settings to the YesInternet APN.

With 4G devices and a compatible plan, you are able to access our entire 3G Network and 4G 1800Mhz Network. With 4G Plus devices and a compatible plan, you can access all areas of the Optus Network, including our 3G, 4G & 4G Plus (2300Mhz) Networks.
