The connection setting that allows you to use Mobile Internet on your mobile phone is called an "Access Point Name" (APN). Most Virgin Mobile Prepaid Members connect using the VirginInternet APN but there are a few exceptions:
- If you BYO iPhone™ to Virgin Mobile and use it with a Prepaid mobile service, then it will connect to the Mobile Internet using the YesInternet APN. This is pre-configured and can’t be changed.
- If you BYO a mobile phone to Virgin Mobile that was purchased from Optus then this may connect to the Mobile Internet using the YesInternet APN. Click here and follow this guide to update your connection setting to the VirginInternet APN.

How do I get a data plan?

Go to My Account Login and select the mobile Internet Data page and use your credit to buy a data plan.

- Go to the Account Balance page. You'll get your balance for included data and data plan.
- If you are running low, there is an option to click through and purchase another Data Plan

The Fine Print: 1) Pre-Paid: You will need a 1c balance to access mobile internet data. All Data Plans expire on the earlier of (i) 30 days from activation or (ii) the expiry of your current voucher (unless you top up) and exclude charges for subscription services & downloaded content. VirginInternet APN excess data charged at 0.2c/kb and deducted in 60kb units. From 5/11/10 YesInternet APN excess data charged at 12c/MB and deducted in 1MB units. To avoid excess data charges purchase another Data plan! Max 3 purchases per month. Bonus credit can not be used to purchase a data plan. All rates apply in Oz.
