Everyone on a Virgin Mobile can send and receive Premium SMS messages!
Premium SMS hooks you up with a world of fun on your phone! You use them to vote on your favourite TV shows like Big Brother and Idol, join SMS chat rooms, bid in auctions, enter comps, get stuff like trivia or astrology, and of course, to download ring tones and games.
You usually use or subscribe to a Premium SMS service by sending an SMS message to a '19' number. Sometimes they are a standard mobile number, and sometimes you subscribe by entering your mobile number into a form on a website.
Make sure you know what you're paying for Premium SMS. These services are provided by third parties other than Virgin Mobile, who set the charges, so we can't give you a full listing here as they vary greatly. You can be charged for the SMS you send to them, any you receive, or a combination of both. The exact prices will be shown in the TV/magazine ad, or on the website, so make sure you're aware of the charges before you send the SMS. Also note: if you are on a CAP, Premium SMS charges are excluded from your monthly CAP value. Charges will appear on your next Virgin Mobile bill if you're Post-Paid, or deducted from your credit if you're Prepaid (if you are out of credit, no premium SMS for you, including subscriptions you've already hooked up - so make sure you top up so you can use these services).
If you're subscribed to a premium SMS service and you wanna cancel it, just SMS the word 'STOP' to the number you SMS'd to get the service. If you are subscribed to multiple services you will have to SMS 'STOP' to each of them.
Read all the details before you subscribe! If you aren't getting what you ordered, are still getting stuff even after sending a 'STOP' message, or are getting stung for charges you don't think you should have, contact the provider who runs this service directly. Their details are usually shown on the ad. If you're unsure of their details, give us a buzz and we'll track 'em down for you.
